When was the last time you had a digital detox?
I’m sure you’ve heard of the term “digital detox.” It refers to going through all of your digital files and deleting those that are no longer relevant.
Ever log on to your computer and find a home screen flooded with screenshots and random files?
It’s annoying, but it happens to the best of us.
The good news is that there are plenty of ways to keep your desktop clean and organized.
A digital detox may sound wishy-washy, but trust us, if you spend any length of time on the computer, it can be the one thing you do that significantly improves your every working day!
The problem with the internet is that it’s filled with distractions – and those distractions are everywhere.
Our VAs regularly work with business owners to clean up their digital spaces, implementing organization systems and programs to automate the process for the future.
We’re not just about cleaning up your online presence – we help you build a strong foundation for your online success.
Many business owners are overwhelmed by the time it takes to manage their digital marketing efforts independently. They’re missing out on opportunities because they don’t have time to do everything themselves, but they also don’t have the money to hire a full-time team.
Our VAs provide customized solutions for business owners who want more control over what’s happening in their digital lives without worrying about managing it themselves.
But, there are a few things you can do today that will get you on the right path:
🌟 Work with project management. If you’re managing a project, it’shaving one secure location for all necessary documents is important. This can be done using a project management program such as Asana or Trello.
You can also use Google Drive to create folders accessible to everyone involved in the project.
🌟 Back up everything! There are many reasons why a computer may crash and lose data. A power surge, a virus, or a routine Windows update could be the culprit. If this happens to you, don’t panic — there’s a solution that can help recover your files.
Back up everything! There’s nothing worse than logging on to a computer that suddenly crashes and having no access to important files. Use a cloud-based system such as Dropbox or IDrive to keep all files safe.
🌟 Delete unneeded files. Delete unneeded files. Make a point of going through your emails and downloads at the end of every day and deleting the ones you no longer need. These regular clean-ups will reduce the need for more work in the future.
Clear out your email inbox. If you’re like most people, your inbox is probably full of months old messages. Set aside time to go through them and delete anything that isn’t important or relevant anymore, including newsletters, promotional offers, etc.
🌟 Create an organized structure. Create an organized structure. Have files set up that allows you to easily organize your documents at the end of every day or week?
Sometimes, you might want to have a folder for each project you’re working on. In other cases, having a single folder for all current projects makes more sense. Make sure you know what works best for you and keep it consistent throughout your life.
