Digital marketing is a broad term for all marketing types that use digital technology. This includes many tools, including email, mobile phones, software, social media, and video.
Digital marketing isn’t just about social media or websites; it’s about the art and science of understanding customers so you can influence their behavior. The goal of digital marketing is to reach people where they are at the right time with the right offer.
There are six main types of digital marketing.
✅ Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) improves your website to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs).
SEO aims to help people find your website when they search for relevant keywords, which can lead to more traffic and conversions.
✅ Social Media Marketing (SMM). Social media marketing is a great way to build relationships with your customers. It gives you a chance to interact with them on a personal level and build trust. You can use social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to promote your business and offer valuable customer service.
✅ Content Marketing. Content marketing is creating and sharing media, primarily online, to attract, engage, and convert customers. The most common content marketing mediums include blogs, social media posts, and e-newsletters.
Content marketing is not a new concept. It’s been around for decades. However, the rise of digital technologies has taken on a new life as both a strategic asset and an effective way to build customer relationships.
✅ Email Marketing. Email marketing is the most profitable and cost-effective form of marketing. It allows you to communicate directly with your customers and build relationships and nurture leads.
Email marketing is an integral part of a successful online strategy. Sending regular newsletters and other promotional emails helps build stronger relationships with existing customers, strengthens your brand image, and increases sales for your business.
✅ Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate marketing is performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate’s marketing efforts. Sales commissions are paid when a purchase is made, and the affiliate (or online marketing associate) is referred to as an affiliate or a publisher.
Affiliates can be paid on a lead generation basis, with the companion receiving money only after they make a sale, or on a performance-based commission basis, where they are produced according to the number of products sold.
✅ Paid Advertising. Paid advertising is a form of marketing in which an advertiser pays a publisher (typically an ad network, media company, or website owner) to advertise to consumers. The advertiser and the publisher negotiate a contract that defines the types of ads displayed, the price paid per click or view, and any other relevant terms.
